 The palace has the Panera Bar where one can sink into the world of luxury and Paantya restaurant serving multi-cuisine meals. Paantya implies Mewar style of dinning and one can gorge into Rajasthani delights.  goibibo has awarded Certificate of Excellence to Shiv Niwas Palace in 2015-2016 and survey reports suggest that around 77 per cent guests recommend the luxury hotel.

For those on a quick trip of the Pink City, there are prominent destinations that are not to be given a miss. While ambling around the old quarters of the Pink City, one should visit Ram Niwas Bagh on Ram Niwas Road. The spacious monument has been the work of Sawai Ram Singh II back in 1868 AD and was set up to offer relief in times of famine. The monument serves as the best example of Indo-Sarcenic style of architecture and has a museum that serves as a repository of sculptures, paintings and decorative wares.

 From here, head to the old city to pay a visit to Govind Devji temple. Located at Jalebi Chowk in the vicinity of the City Palace, the shrine reveres Govind Devji or Lord Krishna that was once installed at a shrine in Vrindavan and was later re-installed by Sawai Jai Singh II  in Jaipur shrine. The shrine is incidentally the most popular one without a spire in the Pink City.

The most outstanding landmark of Jaipur is Hawa Mahal, known as the Palace of Wind. The Rajput monument dates back to 1799 AD comprising five-storied building on the main thoroughfare of the city that exhibits semi-octagonal and honeycomb windows made of sandstone. The colossal structure is a pink wonder that serves as a veritable delight for all tourists visiting Jaipur.

 The only heritage property in the avian destination of Bharatpur is undoubtedly Laxmi Vilas Palace fondly known as Kaka ji ki haveli among the locals in the vicinity of Achnera Marg. Reputed as heritage grand in the world of heritage hotels in Rajasthan, Laxmi Vilas Palace is run by R R Shubh Hotels Private Limited. It was declared as a heritage property in 1994 and in  today’s times, it serves as an authentic example of Rajasthani hospitality. I had a chance to drop in at the heritage property during my brief sojourn in Bharatpur a couple of years ago. It was my first brush with royal hospitality in Rajasthan and a long conversation with Rao Raja Raghuraj Singh, the 14th descendant of Bharatpur’s royal dynasty followed.

Laxmi Vilas Palace spread over 100 acres of land traces it origin as a Zenana Mahal way back in 1870. The hotel has 46 luxury rooms steeped in bygone luxury along with two restaurants, heritage bar, swimming pool and gym. According to Rao Raja Raghuraj Singh, Managing Director, Laxmi Vilas Palace, “Rajasthan has 90 heritage hotels, out of which only 20 heritage properties are recognized by the government. Our heritage hotel exhibits ageless artefacts of Italian marble and travellers can get to watch the portraits of the royal dynasty in every nook and corner. The interior walls have fresco paintings; there are traditional paintings inlaid with gold and an impressive fireplace depicting the customs of regal times. It is the only hospitality set-up that offers heritage cuisine and Bharatpuri cuisine”.
